Onsite Wastewater treatment system installation

The installation of an onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS) involves design, construction and setting up decentralized system to treat and safely dispose of wastewater from residential properties.  Proper installation is crucial for system efficiency, longevity and environmental protection.

Steps in Installation: 

1. OWTS Design - completed by PSTS certified specialist.
2. Site Preparation & Excavation - Clearing the designated area, excavating for the septic tank and drain field, and ensuring proper grading. 
3. Septic Tank Installation - Placing and securely positioning the tank, connecting the inlet and outlet pipes, and ensuring water tight seals.
4. Drain Field & Dispersal System Setup - Installing pipe, distribution boxes, or aeration systems for advanced treatment units.
5. Pumping & Electrical Components - installing pumps, control panels, or aeration systems for advanced treatment units
6. Testing - perform testing of system to ensure accurate flows and or squirt heights as set out in the OWTS Design.
7. Back Filling & Final Grading - Covering the system with the appropriate material set out in the OWTS design in accordance with the AB SOP. 
8. Inspection & Testing - performing regulatory inspections, leak test and verifying system operation.
